Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal M.I.
After I lead worship at my church I decided to go to my friend’s church, which in Minnesota, called Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal M.I. It’s been a little while since I visited, but I was a great time.
They were having a special service focused on missions. I believe the service is typically about two hours, but things went a little bit longer yesterday. The service lasted 3 hrs and 15 minutes. The time did go by fast. Why? I rarely get to see such enthusiasm for the Lord, at least outwardly.
People were really bringing their praise to the Lord shouting “Gloria a Dios” throughout the entire service. There were at least three tambourines in the congregation in a church that probably had less than a hundred people. When the service started I saw this one guy dancing in the aisle, which is great. Although, I didn’t expect him to starting dancing down the aisle in hyper speed, but nobody in the congregation seemed to mind.
I wondered how many people would frown upon people dancing like that other denominations. What was even more amazing was my son got to participate in the service, even though we were just visiting. A lady asked me if my son could walk. I nodded my head to tell her yes. She then informed me that it was okay for him to walk with the other children with flags in their hands.
The church was going to pray for the nations once the children brought their flags to the front. My son, Gabe, didn’t want to walk on his own, so I had to carry him to the front. My friend was surprised as I walked past her family, but they smiled with joy.
Afterwards we had fellowship and a snack. I think my friend’s husband paid for my meal, since they were taking donations. I think next time I’ll find a babysitter, but I’ll visit again for sure. I hope the next time I come my grasp of the Spanish language will have. That way I can really start building friendships with these believers.
